"Rarest
of the Rare" collection
of whiskies from lost distilleries
Duncan Taylor & Co Ltd are pleased to announce the launch of their Rarest of the Rare Collection of single malt and single grain whiskies. The collection is an historic range of single cask whiskies from distilleries that are no longer in existence.
Each bottling in the range is bottled at natural strength and colour from a single cask, without the aid of chill-filtration. Each bottle will be individually numbered and presented in a black gift box, with the exception of the mystery “♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦” which is presented in a wooden box and the Kinclaith which is presented in a wooden box along with a 5cl tasting sample and engraved tot glass.
A rigorous selection process has determined the casks which have been bottled in the “Rarest of the Rare” collection to ensure that the whiskies in the range are not only exceptionally rare but are, first and foremost, exceptional whiskies.
The range highlights some of the whisky gems that may have otherwise been lost to us forever. The Rarest of the Rare Collection will be of interest to both the collector and the connoisseur alike. For some it will provide the opportunity to try whiskies that they may not have had the chance to before and for others the range will be seen as a welcome addition to any whisky collection.
The Rarest of the Rare Collection comprises a variety of whiskies with something to suit most palates and budgets. The range includes whiskies from distilleries which were only recently demolished - such as Pittyvaich - many of the 1983 casualties such as Banff, Glen Mhor and Glen Albyn and some more mythical whiskies such as Kinclaith and the often associated whisky from Ayrshire (the mysterious ♦♦♦♦♦♦♦♦ in the collection!) The collection also includes rarely seen examples of whiskies produced in now decommissioned Lomond stills in the form of Glencraig and Mosstowie.
A price list with the full range is overleaf with reservations now being taken. The Rarest of the Rare Collection will be available from October but demand is already very high and we would highly recommend pre-ordering in order to avoid missing out on the collection. Remember these are very limited edition single cask bottlings which have to supply the entire world market!
